Actually, it is not. Behind Zakeo is the Benedictine Abbey of Ndanda. This is a missionary/monastic community for men which is comprised of more than eighty members nationwide. As a Benedictine community, we leave under a religious superior (traditionally address to as “abbot” – father). The community lives and gives life witness to the gospel values under a special guidance of the Rule (way of life) of St. Benedict.
Our motto is “Work and Prayer” (ora et labora in Latin). In its daily life the community strives to reach out to the spiritual, social and economic needs of the people around. This explains why the community runs institutions like Ndanda Hospital, Abbey Secondary School, Ndanda School of Nursing, Ndanda Trade school, and of course – Zakeo Spiritual Centre.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_section]
